Dr. Crystal Gayle, Psy.D. is a Texas licensed psychologist who enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults. She uses a strength-based, collaborative, and multicultural approach. Dr. Gayle believes in creating an honest and warm therapeutic environment while creating a strong rapport with each client or family as they work towards meeting their treating goals. She utilizes evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help individuals become the best versions of themselves. Dr. Gayle enjoys working with individuals through the lifespan with challenges related to anxiety, specific phobias, depression and other mood disorders, trauma, trichotillomania, school anxiety, testing anxiety, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and parenting difficulties. Dr. Gayle also has specialized training in treating OCD in children and adults by providing exposure and response prevention treatment. Additionally, she conducts psychoeducational assessments that examine specific learning disorders as well as ADHD.

Education and Career Background

Dr. Crystal Gayle, Psy.D. earned her master’s and doctorate degree from the APA-accredited and NASP- approved School Psychology program at the University of Rhode Island. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and educational studies from Emory University. Her doctoral training focused on psychological and educational assessment, as well as utilizing CBT to treat anxiety, depression, behavior problems, stress, anger, and trauma. She has provided therapy and assessments in elementary and high schools located in urban and rural communities in Rhode Island, university treatment programs, juvenile correctional facilities and children hospitals. Dr. Gayle completed her pre-doctoral internship at Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care in New Jersey where she conducted child and adolescent assessments, and individual, group, and family therapy. Dr. Gayle completed her post-doctoral training at Dallas CBT, a private practice that specializes in anxiety disorders, OCD, and psychoeducational evaluations. Dr. Gayle is the primary supervisor for one of Great Life Counseling Center’s postdoctoral fellows, Nicole Fisher, Psy.D.
